Can You Bring CBD Edibles on a Plane?

Yes, you can fly with your Jubilee of Wellness products. Please note that there is always a chance that you may be challenged to ensure that your products are hemp derived. When you buy products from us, rest assured, they are always hemp derived! Even our delta 8 & delta 9 products. 

I will add more information below in case you are purchasing from other states like Michigan & Colorado. 

As per the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), the only permissible cannabis-related products on a plane (in both carry-ons and checked luggage) are those with no more than 0.3 percent THC or FDA-approved medication.

These  guidelines are in place because airports, regardless of their location in a state where marijuana is legal, fall under federal jurisdiction. This means that cannabis products containing over 0.3% THC remain illegal at the federal level within airports.

Because Jubilee of Wellness & Michele’s Apothecary are in Indiana where marijuana is not yet legal, all of our products are 0.3% THC or less. 

If you are traveling to states where you can purchase legal marijuana products, you should know that while the TSA primarily focuses on security, their officers aren't actively searching for edibles. If discovered during screening, they'll refer the matter to law enforcement.

Consequences of Getting Caught with Edibles in an Airport

Different states may respond differently if you're caught with edibles in one of their airports. For example, Los Angeles International Airport notes that their Airport Police Division won't arrest an individual within the airport if they possess an amount within the legal limit of 28.5 grams. However, enforcement varies by location.

In certain airports, 'amnesty boxes' have been set up. Travelers can dispose of cannabis products without facing penalties. Notably, some airports still strictly prohibit cannabis on their premises.

It's imperative to remember that these regulations apply only to American citizens within the United States. Cannabis laws differ significantly worldwide, and being caught with it in a country where it's illegal can lead to severe consequences.
